New installations of value-for-money machine Autoprint Repetto 65 V2

The Autoprint Repetto 65 V2 is a viable and economical option for automatic die punching, instead of going for imported used machines. Its compact size, speed and accuracy enabled us to improve our quality and delivery time. It is “value for money” and “met all our expectations,” says Mukesh Tanwani of RT Graphics, Indore. “Before investing in Autoprint Repetto 65 V2, we had converted our two colour offset machines for applications like UV coating and Metpet printing, and six months back we installed our third press. Our present infrastructure includes complete range of machines starting from packagings and designing to final delivery of the printed material. We handle all operations under one roof except CtP, which we are planning to set up in-house very soon.”

Catering to the requirements of several industries, RT Graphics is manufacturer and supplier of packaging boxes, printed bags, labels, promotional products and stationery items and are the leading paperboard packaging supplier in central India.They cater to various FMCG, food, confectionery, pharmaceutical and garment segments for their packaging requirements including mono cartons, e flute cartons and labels.

Meanwhile, Manak Packaging, Indore, a carton manufacturing company for the past 20 years, has also installed an Autoprint Repetto 65V2 die punching machine. “The company was started by my father and my uncle,” says Konark, the present director of the company. “Presently we cater to the FMCG, confectionary, masala and agarbatti customers. With the installation of the Autoprint die punching machine, which has enabled us to speed up our delivery to our customers, we are planning to enter the pharmaceuticals and readymade industry segments,” says Konark.

“We are mainly catering to the FMCG segment and the die punching machine is of the exact size as our jobs, and the floor area required by the machine is very less. It can replace up to three manual punching machines which reduces our labor cost and increases the speed of our working with accuracy. We chose Autoprint Repetto 65 V2 for its size, automation and speed”, says Konark.

PRESSLINE India delivers PRIMA-30 to WAEC in Ghana

Footprints of PRESSLINE India in the African regions keep spreading as presses from the Indian web offset manufacturer are constantly on demand from newspaper and book publishers as well as others including academic councils in the region. West African Examination Council (WAEC), headquartered at Accra in Ghana, has recently installed a PRESSLINE PRIMA-30 to print examination documents of the schools affiliated to the council.

Impressed with the unique features of the press from the Indian web offset manufacturer, West African Examination Council (WAEC) has recently installed PRESSLINE PRIMA-30 to print all the examination papers for the schools run under the council. “May the good plans the Lord has for you for 2016 be fulfilled. Remain blessed,” this was the cordial message to PRESSLINE India from Rev Sam NN Ollennu, head of WAEC, expressing his contentment of the printing press he received from the Indian manufacturer.

WAEC was established in 1952, after the Governments of Ghana (then Gold Coast), Nigeria, Sierra Leone and Gambia enacted the West African Examinations Council Ordinances in 1951. Liberia became the fifth member of the council in 1974. The enactment of the ordinances was based on the Jeffrey Report, which strongly supported the proposal for the setting up of a regional examining board to harmonise and standardise the pre-university assessment procedures in the then British West Africa period.

Today, the main objective of WAEC is to conduct examinations in public interest and to award certificates, provided the certificates do not represent lower standards of attainment than equivalent certificates of examining authorities in the UK. Also, the council has a vivid vision of making its examining body world class, adding value to the educational goals of its stakeholders.

The ultimate mission of WAEC, eying broadly across the continent, is to become Africa’s foremost examination body to provide qualitative and reliable educational assessments, encouraging academic and moral excellence and promoting sustainable human resource development and international cooperation, under the core values of integrity, professionalism, accountability, transparency and team work.

After all, WAEC finally chose PRESSLINE India’s press to print the required academic documents, particularly examination papers for its schools in the five-member countries across the continent. Large printing house in India opts for all-in-one technology from HC MOOG

Hyderabad based Pragati Pack Private Ltd has recently installed the multi-function machine 1-TBR Compact from HC MOOG. Pragati Pack is a subsidiary of the Pragati group of Indian printing houses and has specialised in the packaging market.

“A dream come true”

Although the new all-in-one machine from HC MOOG is just one of the many machines of Pragati Pack, CEO Hemanth Paruchuri thinks that it holds a special position. “I had this investment on my mind ever since we visited an open house of MOOG in 2010,” he explains. For cost reasons, however, the company bought a comparable machine from China, and had to learn the lesson that comparability at best existed on paper. The technology did not deliver what the manufacturer had promised. Paruchuri decided to sell that machine and buy the MOOG 1-TBR Compact. “Actually, I am glad that we finally managed to make this decision,” he says. “Because having a MOOG to produce on in future gives the feeling of a dream come true.”

Printing, embossing and finishing with one machine

The printing method used is sheet-fed gravure printing, which allows image resolutions of up to 10,160 dpi in combination with laser-exposed photopolymer printing plates. Such resolutions even enable the application of “hidden images” on packages as integrated counterfeit protection. In addition, conventional, globally available printing cylinders can be used. The 1-TBR Compact combines this high print quality with flexible finishing processes. It is possible to use metallic pigments and pearlescent inks, glossy and matt coatings, functional coatings as well as special haptic effect coatings. Dryer modules based on infra-red, hot air or UV technologies supplement the multi-function concept. Thanks to the precise ink metering and high ink variability, the drying process can be fine-tuned to the individual job. This saves energy and contributes to the economic efficiency of the machine, which is additionally supported by the minimised startup waste in sheet-fed printing.

Parksons installs second Heidelberg CX 102 six-colour press

Reaffirming its trust in the Heidelberg brand, Parksons Packaging successfully installed the second Heidelberg Speedmaster CX 102 six-colour press with coater at its Chakan unit near Pune, within a year of investing in the country’s first Speedmaster CX 102. One of the most technologically evolved solutions from Heidelberg; the Speedmaster CX 102 is designed to cater to complex quality requirements in the packaging industry.

About 40 to 60 sheets are all that are needed to get into production without any pull by the operator. Ink and register are monitored and corrected automatically throughout the entire run.

The Chakan installation also included the recently launched New Image Control Gen 2 from Heidelberg. The technology facilitates controlling the quality of the entire substrate without any loss of board or paper. “Our relationship with Heidelberg is time-tested. Time and again, we have empowered our business with Heidelberg presses. The Speedmaster CX 102 is a surefire winner with the Inpress Control technology. Not sure, if I should call it Inpress or Impress, because the quality of output is extraordinary.

Our decision to go for a second CX 102 was a breeze. ” states Ramesh Kejriwal, chairman Parksons Packaging.

He comments further, “With a production speed of 16,500 sheets per hour, the Speedmaster CX 102 can handle a broad spectrum of substrates ranging from lightweight paper to bending-resistant cardboard, and up to a maximum sheet format of 720 mm x 1,040 mm.” KK Sharma, head of Parksons’ Pune Plant adds, “The CX 102 is a power player, perfect for short and medium runs also, which is now a general trend in the market.

The Speedmaster CX 102 is configured with a touch screen control station that facilitates intuitive and ergonomic operation of the sheet feeder, thereby minimising wastage, and promoting cost-efficiency. The new Feature “Color Assistant Pro” takes care of further intricacies in colour management, by highlighting the difference between old and new coloring. The feature enables fullyautomated monitoring of ink fountain liner, and self-calibration of ink zones with automatic adoption of characteristic profiles in the shortest possible time, saving wastage and cutting down on make-ready and change-over times. Sodhisons Mechanical Works, a Sonepat-based manufacturer and exporter of high-duty platen die cutters, hot foil stampers, semi and fully-automatic programmable paper cutters, laminators, UV/ WB coating and curing systems, folder gluers and others, showcased its full range of products at the recent PAMEX 2015 in Mumbai.
