Xerox named to Dow Jones Sustainability World and North America Indexes

Xerox has been named to the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index (DJSI World) for the first time and the Dow Jones Sustainability North America Index for the third consecutive year.

In the categories of corporate code of conduct, corporate governance and environmental management and reporting, Xerox exceeded the average score of DJSI World Members. Xerox was one of nine companies in the IT and software services sector to make the DJSI industry list and scored higher than most of the other industry members on all DJSI dimensions (economic, environmental and social).

Olympus Print reports superior longevity of genuine manufacturer’s spare parts

Olympus Print Group in Leeds invested in several high spec Nilpeter FA-4 combination presses with GEW-made E2C UV curing systems, offering UV flexo, UV digital and UV screen printing and hot/cold foiling. With the set-up Olympus have realised substantial power savings and have been able to achieve exceptionally high lamp durabilities.

Adrian Brown, managing director, Olympus, said, “We achieved the extra-long life cycles of these UV lamps by using authentic GEW parts and by running the system at the correct power level rather trying to work at full power.” Olympus’ Prism Management Information System allows management to keep track of shift activities, when the press is running or idle, when in standby and when down for other reasons. “We have virtually 100 percent UV efficiency and ever since installation no downtime because of lamp failure and that’s running three shifts five days a week,” confirms Brown.

New body for IPAMA

At the 101st meeting of the Governing Council of Indian Printing Packaging & Allied Machinery Manufacturers’ Association (IPAMA), the following incumbents were unanimously elected for the term 2016-2018. HV Sheth of Sheth Printograph Pvt. Ltd., Noida is the president while PK Bhalla of Manugraph India Ltd, New Delhi is the vice president (West); Vinay Kumar Gupta of AEC Machinery Co Pvt Ltd, Amritsar is the vice president (North); CN Ashok of Autoprint Machinery Mfrs. (P) Ltd., Coimbatore is the vice president (South) and Jaiveer Singh of Rotta Print India Pvt Ltd, Faridabad is the vice president (East).

Balkrishan Khindria of Memory Repro Systems (P) Ltd., New Delhi is the honorary general secretary. The joint secretary for West, North, South and East zones are Satish Kaushik of Web Masters, Naveen Gupta of Prakash Offset Machinery Pvt. Ltd., Faridabad; Dayaker Reddy of Gutenberg Machinery Manufacturers Pvt Ltd, Hyderabad; and Iqbal Singh of Sond Associates (Engg) Pvt Ltd, Amritsar, respectively. Dharmesh Arora of Fair Deal Engineers, Faridabad, is the treasurer.

In the opening address, HV Sheth, president, emphasized the need for technological upgradation and development, smooth coordination with the members of the Association and also to educate them on different aspects of the industry. He also highlighted the need to open an institute for imparting technical training for the betterment of the industry.

EFI debuts industrial textile printer in North America

At the 2016 SGIA Expo (September 14-16, 2016), EFI showcased several new offerings for the first time in North America.

Konica Minolta continues winning streak in BLI Pick awards
