New appointments @ AIFMP

During the 235th Governing Council Meeting held at Hyderabad, Arvind Mardikar was unanimously elected as Hon. Treasurer of the All India Federation of Master Printers (AIFMP). Arvind, the Nagpur based industry veteran, is a well-known name in the printing and packaging industry of India. Pre-press and colour matching (ink matching) are his forte.

During the same meeting CA Uday Dhote was appointed as chairman and Medha Virkar as co-chairperson of Standing Committee on Finance and Taxation of AIFMP.

QuadTech to unveil world-first “color management breakthroughs”

At INFO•FLEX 2017 in Phoenix, Arizona, USA (May 1-2, 2017), QuadTech will conduct live demonstrations of its new ColorTrack color management software. ColorTrack was launched at drupa 2016, along with the new Color Measurement with DeltaCam™ and completely redesigned Inspection System.

ColorTrack facilitates fast, accurate press-side correction of ink formulations. Without any hardware modifications to the press, ColorTrack software seamlessly integrates with ink recipe software to not only simplify workflow, but also dramatically reduce the number of ink corrections needed to achieve accurate, optimal color.

According to QuadTech president Karl Fritchen, “ColorTrack’s potential to have a big impact on the industry attracted enthusiastic crowds when we first launched at drupa last summer. Since then, our developers and engineers have completed more new features that we believe will change the way printers manage color quality.”

Kodak @ China Print

Kodak will be at China Print (Hall E2, Booth #121) to promote their portfolio of green printing solutions and showcase their innovation, building on their success at drupa 2016 and regional print shows such as PrintPack India 2017.

The display will include the KODAK FLEXCEL NX System, a fully integrated solution for digital flexo platemaking available in a wide variety of format sizes; Stream Inkjet Solutions from Kodak AND OEM partners including KODAK PROSPER S-Series Imprinting Systems, Kodak 6000C Presses and the Matti MonoJet 330 will be showcased

Visitors will also be able to see the range of Kodak Plates, including the new KODAK SONORA UV Process Free Plates, which deliver long run lengths for UV applications plus the benefits of process free, and KODAK SWORD MAX Thermal Plates, targeted for availability in Q4 2017, which use patented Advanced Resin Technology (ART) to deliver high-performance features, including strong solvent resistance and scratch resistance, for printers facing challenging press conditions. The KODAK TRENDSETTER Q800 Platesetter with Single-Cassette Unit will also be running live on the stand. Kodak will also be demonstrating the PRINERGY On-Premise Platform that delivers end-to-end automation and keeps costs, quality, and business risk in control. Also in the booth, will be the recently launched PRINERGY Cloud Platform - delivering new, industry-first solutions that augment and expand your current PRINERGY On-Premise Platform investment.

Trust Marketing to tap newer markets with Ricoh Pro C9100

Trust Marketing (Tituprint), Jaipur has recently been in the limelight for installing Ricoh Pro C9100, the first top end model sold in Rajasthan.

So, what were the reasons to invest into Ricoh machine? “We opted for this machine as it has the latest technology to handle 400 GSM, Banner Duplex with high resolution of 1200 x 4800 DPI printing, good Service Support (direct Ricoh office in Jaipur and local engineer is stationed to handle production machines)” shared Pankaj Ahuja of Trust Marketing. “Ricoh is Pro C9100 can handle print load up to 10lac impression per month, and can handle media flexibility in duplex print for size 13 x 27 inch at a high speed of 110 prints per minute.”

On asking about how the new investment will boost their production and business, Pankaj replied, “We anticipate a growth in present colour volume as many clients who had volumes of bigger size and heavy media will no longer opt for offset and rather come to us for getting their work done faster.” Besides, they will also be capturing the packaging industry which was an untouched area because of the need of heavy media and size, big volumes are expected. Also high speed and reliability will also increase our productivity,” he added.

Talking about an early ROI, Pankaj shared, “We are looking to be ‘most respected’ brand in our chosen business segments. With this ideology, if we do our basics right and lead to becoming what we want to be, numbers will automatically fall in place. We want to chase correctness and timely delivery of our commitments to our consumers and in turn create delight for our consumers.”
