Dainik Jagran commissions PPI Media

To maintain their current market position today and to continue their tradition of growth well into the future, Daily Jagran has decided to kick-off the New Year with a new partner, ppi Media. The software developer from Hamburg will supply Jagran Group with its classic workflow solution for newspaper production. This publishing software from Germany streamlines and optimizes complicated processes.

“The need of hour is a reliable workflow suited for a Multi-edition and Multi-center working which delivers accuracy and speed. Working simultaneously on page (editorial) and advertisement / scheduling for placement of content & advertisements and support of page planning with central approach were some of its key features. Among some workflows tested, ppi Media with its complete workflow solution was the preferred choice,” said Sandeep Gupta, executive president of Jagran Prakashan Limited. Jagran decided to go with ppi Media's powerful print production solutions including PlanPag for planning and production, AdX Print, AdPag and AdMan for ad solutions, ProPag for automatic page assembly as well as to supplement for InLink and DistEl. ppi Media's CEO, Norbert Ohl, is excited about this new order: “We are proud to have found such a renowned customer as Jagran Prakashan Limited. The project officially kicks off in February 2015 when ppi Media sets up the initial systems in Jagran's publishing houses. By providing workshops, training programs and basic installations, ppi Media will stand sideby- side with Jagran's employees and bring them up to speed on the new software. This is an integral part of ppi Media's on-going consultant and education services. The first modules are scheduled to go live in October 2015 and all work will be completed by Q1 2016.

It is available on newsstands every day in eleven Indian states and as such is counted among the biggest players in publishing, printing dailies in various languages like – Hindi (Dainik Jagran, Nai Dunia, Nav Dunia), Urdu (Inquilab), Gujrati (Gujrati Midday), English (Midday), Punjabi (Punjabi Jagran) and Compact Bi-lingual (iNext).
