RICOH focuses on book printing at PAMEX 2013

Showcasing InfoPrint 4100 to help printers find new pathways maintaining quality production

RICOH India shall be changing its gear to present a spectrum of groundbreaking technologies and products ever offered to its customers in India during PAMEX 2013. One of the major highlights at its colossal stand will be the exclusive focus on RICOH InfoPrint 4100 press which is designed for digital book production and transactional segment, in addition to the company’s portfolio of new machines, software and others in a fresh combo.

Avijit Mukherjee and Anjana SahaRICOH India sees the emerging printing market of India in two different perspectives. “I agree with the fact that the Indian printing market is now surging at 10 percent annual growth. The market keeps seeing a lot about launches of new digital colour presses. However, when we look at the black and white parameter for book printing, it has been quite distinctively seen that none is taking it further in a big way,” explained Avijit Mukherjee, chief executive officer, Production Printing Business Group, RICOH India. He pointed to RICOH InfoPrint 4100 press which they plan to showcase at PAMEX 2013 to woo their customers looking for new pathways to book and transactional printing.

Exclusive features

RICOH InfoPrint 4100 runs at the speed up to 330 linear fpm (100.6 m) in maximum print width of 19 inch producing a resolution of 600 dpi. This monochrome printer is compatible with a range of papers producing high-image and text quality traditionally available only from cut-sheet solutions. In addition, InfoPrint 4100 provides one of the highest speeds currently available for electro-photographic printers, which can increase output volumes with fewer devices.

Book printers can get the advantage of InfoPrint 4100 to reduce the cost of printing short-run books or technical manuals. Also, direct mailers and service bureaus can also lower the cost by running a range of paper weights on this black and white press. “We have introduced InfoPrint 4100 in the Indian market recently and delivered to a couple of users. But our plan is to present this now in a different way, showing its exclusive features for digital book publishers during PAMEX 2013,” mentioned Avijit.

Special zones

“We are not going by products but the needs of our customers in the Indian printing market. Using PAMEX 2013 as a platform to interact with customers of different printing backgrounds, we shall segregate our stand into 5-6 different zones in which onsite demo of book printing activity on InfoPrint 4100 will be one of the major showcases,” conveyed Avijit adding, “We would particularly like to stage the robustness, print quality and productivity which book publishers deserve in the current market.”

Anjana Saha, marketing manager, production printing business group, Ricoh India asserted that book printing demo on InfoPrint 4100 will be assisted with colour book covers printed on RICOH Pro 901 Graphic Art + in the cut-sheet zone as well as binding activities in another special zone where mixed media support options will also be on display at the company’s stand during PAMEX 2013.

Apart from the exclusive spotlight on book printing, RICOH India has set its stand at PAMEX 2013 to unveil a complete array of its new digital machines, software solutions and business portal in a very customised and value-added way. “Amongst the fresh introductions to visitors at our stand during the expo include RICOH Cloud Printing Solutions and RICOH Business Portal. The latter will be an online arena where our customers and fraternities can take the advantages in knowledge sharing, learning from each other, offering their services and other activities faster and consistently,” explained Avijit.
